On 30 July 2018, AES-VCM representative, Ms. Le My Hanh, Stakeholder Manager, was honored by Quang Ninh Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs during the mid-term meeting of Action for Children Program and in celebration of National Month for Children.
National Month for Children 2018 was launched on 28 May 2018 by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. The annual action month this year was launched across the country under the theme “For a safe and healthy life for children”. The action month aims to better implement children’s rights, especially the right to participate in affairs relating to children, and the right of protection from abasement.
Investing on education and children development is one of key areas of AES-VCM strategic community development plan. Since the establishment, AES-VCM has invested VND 8 billion on community development programs focusing on education, healthcare, livelihood restoration, and environment protection, in which the projects related to educations and children are always prioritized. Outstanding projects on education and children being implemented recently include eyes and teeth check for pupils of Nguyen Trai Elementary School, information session to raise traffic safety awareness for pupils of Mong Duong High School, fence and gate construction for Ha Chanh branch of Nguyen Trai Elementary School, scholarships for students and pupils of Quang Ninh province, building road to Dong Mo Branch of Nguyen Trai Elementary School, building a hand-washing station for Cam Hai Elementary and Secondary School, building a playground for Cong Hoa commune, etc.
Ms. Le My Hanh, Stakeholder Manager as selected as an individual to receive this valuable recognition for AES-VCM effort in developing a better future for the children in Quang Ninh.
